Extra hour at 3'oclock bar night isn't the same in a big city with 4 am bars

First of all, GO CARDINALS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 2006 World Series Champs!!!!!!!!!!!!! Great ugly series and Yadi should have been mvp not the little man. But Go Cardinals!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Second, very fun weekend. After getting out of work a little too late to make it to St Louis, my wonderful girlfriend went out with me Friday to find the one Cardinal bar in Chicago (that's even though she's a cub fan, now that's love). Said Cardinal bar was WAY too crowded even an hour and a half before game time. So we wondered down a little to a strange little place, the front was normal cool wood bar then the back was old school down home style cooking place, great food. After that and not being able to get into the Cardinal bar, we ended up slighly down the block at another bar called Gamekeepers, there we found 2 bar stools, bass and amstel light on tap and about 18 TV's all on the game. Not very crowded when we got there but as the game went out it became the offical overflow bar for Cardinal fans, became packed and the poor only 3 employees working were swamped. All in all a fun fun night with the Cardinals winning the world series!!!!!

Sat was chill, I do miss this night back home. I didn't even say Happy Extra Hour at 3 O'clock Bar Night to anyone. No Curve for me, no shots of Jack, no cheering at the clock either, oh fun sat in october of past. Oh well, Chi-town is still a cool fun place and it's not even freezing today. The new job goes very well but I still miss a few things from down south, here's to cheap wings, big 2.50 beer, harrys, pinball, and x-mas shopping trips on said sundays.

Living in the home of tasty pizza

So blogworld, time for an old school one paragraph update:

Summer was fun, lots and lots of baseball, season tickets were great. Then got a new kickass job in Chicago. Before I moved Sista got married. Labor Day weekend moved to Chi-town. Josh was the most awesome help to move. Yay for Josh and Amanda's friends who helped. Living in Chicago now, still getting used to it but I like it so far. Had some fun, my work one Friday tried to "initiate" me with shots. Ha. Had fun being a tourist. Cardinals worried me tons and tons but still backed into the playoffs as division champs. This weekend is good, visitors, baseball, then tonight Bears/Seahawks game. Should be fun. Will be in good ole st louie next weekend for divisional playoff.

All in all, life is good and Amanda still rules.

She's great, and read her blog if you want more details. My blog never gives details, I'm lazy. Still looking for a new car, on the fence is I should splurg or take it easy and wait a year for the car I want to come down in price. That's all. Amanda rocks!

Bait and Switch

So I now hate Green Toyota on. Today I was ready to buy my new car: a 2005 Solara Convertible. I checked it out yesterday, got a price quote, and then went back this afternoon with my dad. We took it for a test drive, really liked it, and went in to buy it. While waiting for them to come back with how much my car was going to be for trade in, the sales guy comes back out and says, "I made a mistake, that price I quoted you is for a different car, a 2006 hardtop. You're car is $6,000 more" My dad and I were shocked, and I was pissed. All ready to buy then they say that. So i'm already very pissed, and I go to grab my keys (they took my car out to get an idea of the value) and I hear the manager guy finish a sentence, "Well, they should have known the price was wrong." Yeah, I did know the price, and the first price they quoted was a little under blue book value which is expected since this was a 2005 with 29,000 miles already and a few scratches to the paint. The "new" price is 4 grand over blue book. I did my reasearch, thought it was a good deal, all ready to buy, and then BAM, "sorry that's not the price, you should have know that, you idiot". screw them. My dealer was a nice guy who actually liked car shopping with, and probably just made a honest mistake, but screw his boss, his attitude and Green Toyota on Wabash.

And I was already to say bye to my baby too.....

In other news, my grandma rules, got to talk to her for about an hour to day. Love her. And Amanda rules for putting me in a better mood. Dinner time, work Sat night, come visit.
